Mission, Vision and Values

The mission of HMG is to support and develop new
HMG Neighborhoods
that provide sustainable, high-quality, resident-based, affordable housing to persons in need.
HMG Neighborhoods
are mixed-income and mixed-tenure, neighborhood condominium developments designed to promote life-giving intentional community and service among its residents and promote neighborhood revitalization and stability. HMG partners with and provide technical assistance to local churches and other ministry groups across the country to support and develop these neighborhood life communities.

Our vision is the establishment and successful a network of
HMG Neighborhoods
in each metropolitan region of the United States that would serve to seek the total peace and prosperity of its residents, neighbors and region by supporting resident lifestyles of Gospel neighboring.

Our group values biblical, reconciling, Kingdom communities that serve the poor, love their neighbors, and practice grace through intentional community and affordable housing ministry. HMG serves to glorify God by proclaiming and demonstrating the Good News of His Kingdom and striving for excellence in grace through all we do. HMG's values are grounded in Biblical principles, with a special focus on Acts 2 (living together in Christ-centered community), Jeremiah 29 (seeking the peace and prosperity of the city), and Luke 10 (proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom).

Jeremiah 29 - "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce... seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."

Luke 10 - "After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road. “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’"

Acts 2 - "All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people."
